VEGAS (September 4, 2020) - Cox and the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation have teamed up to help support 100 Clark County School District educators with grants that upgrade their technology as they teach students through distance learning.
Cox will provide 100 teachers with complimentary super-fast high-speed internet service for up to nine months to cover the 2020-2021 school year, and the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation will provide a monetary award up to $50,000 through $250 - $500 grants toward technology and education tools that aid with virtual teaching.
"Teachers are truly the unsung heroes of our community, and we want to do our part to support them with our internet service so they can effectively reach their students," said Cox Vice President and Las Vegas Market Leader Michael F. Bolognini. "We know distance learning presents unique challenges for everyone involved and believe that upgraded technology and robust internet speeds for our educators working from home will help teachers and their students alike."
In order to be considered, applicants must be legal residents of Clark County, NV at least 18 years of age and current teachers of the Clark County School District actively practicing distance education from a residential address located within Cox's Southern Nevada service area. Applicants must submit a completed application by September 18, 2020.

To be considered for the grant, applicants must complete and submit the online form, found here, by September 18, 2020. Applications open at 10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, September 8.
Grants will be awarded in early October 2020.
