With the Golden Knights starting to pick up steam after a slow start to the season, the team hunkered down at home during Thanksgiving weekend to host the Calgary Flames and San Jose Sharks in back-to-back games. Marc-Andre Fleury dazzled against Calgary as he stopped 28 shots to lead Vegas to a 2-0 win. The next night, Fleury made 33 saves for his second clean sheet in a row as the Golden Knights topped the Sharks, 6-0. This moment defeated Mark Stone's playoff hat trick with 59 percent of the vote.
On Oct. 28, the Golden Knights and Ottawa Senators took a 3-3 tie into overtime. Marchessault caught a pass in neutral ice and darted into the Ottawa zone before being hooked. He was awarded the first penalty shot of his career on the play. Marchessault cruised in on the right wing, angled himself toward the middle of the ice and snapped a shot under the glove of Craig Anderson to give the Golden Knights a dramatic victory on home ice. This moment defeated the acquisition of Mark Stone with 58 percent of the vote.
