The Vegas Golden Knights ended their five-game losing streak with a bang when they defeated the Florida Panthers, 5-3, on Thursday night at T-Mobile Arena.

Vegas went up against the top team in the Eastern Conference as the team returned from a tough five-game road trip to a green and gold St. Patrick's Day crowd on the strip.
After the Golden Knights took a 3-1 lead, the Panthers clawed back to tie the game at 3-3 with 7:34 to play in the third period. Less than a minute later, Nicolas Roy jumped on a loose puck at the Vegas blueline when Sam Bennett fell to the ice.
Roy's speed propelled him past two Florida backcheckers and gave him the clearance to get a clear breakaway on goalie Spencer Knight. Ever the shootout specialist, Roy took advantage of his space and froze Knight with a shot fake before deking to his backhand.
With just enough room between Knight and the post, Roy lifted the puck into the open side and sent The Fortress into a frenzy. The goal was Roy's 12th of the season as he continues to set new offensive heights in 2021-22.
