After the Vegas Golden Knights were shutout by the Minnesota Wild in Game 1 of their Stanley Cup Playoffs First Round series, offense became a question mark for the NHL's winningest team.
Vegas had 42 shots in its series-opening 1-0 overtime loss to the Wild and it seemed the predictions of a tightly contested series would come true. Since that loss, the Golden Knights have outscored the Wild by a count of 12-3 and have taken a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven set.

Mark Stone (3G, 1A) has been the straw that stirs the drink for the Golden Knights as he leads the team with four points in four games. Alex Tuch (3G), Reilly Smith (1G, 2A), William Karlsson (1G, 2A) and Chandler Stephenson (3A) have all registered three points in the series for Vegas.
In the four games so far, 15 different players have posted at least one point for the Golden Knights including goalie Marc-Andre Fleury who notched an assist in Game 3. Nine of those players have at least two points in the series.
During the regular season, Vegas and Minnesota squared off eight times. The Golden Knights had a 3-4-1 record against the Wild but have found a new level of success so far in the postseason. Six of the eight games the two teams played against each other in the regular season were decided by one goal. Through four games in this series, only Minnesota's 1-0 overtime win in Game 1 has followed that regular season trend.
There is plenty of work to do for the Golden Knights before they can think about what lies down the road in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but the team's offensive success against the Wild breeds optimism for Vegas during the most exciting time of the year.
