So we meet again...
par Staff Writer / Montréal CanadiensMONTREAL – Mathieu Schneider is no stranger to the confines of Philips Arena but on Friday night, the veteran defenseman will find himself on the visitor’s bench for the first time this season.
With three goals and three assists in seven games since he was acquired, Schneider will face the Thrashers for the first time since coming back to Montreal after a 14-year absence.
The 39-year-old will no doubt be hoping for a successful return to his most recent stomping grounds as did many of his teammates when they squared off against their former squads.
Of the 10 players on the Canadiens’ current roster who came to town via trade or waivers, seven have had reason to celebrate in their first tilt against their ex-teammates. While Alex Tanguay is the lone Hab to pick up more than a point, Patrice Brisebois and Tom Kostopoulos made the night memorable, each lighting the lamp in those games.
Here’s a look at how those the Canadiens have acquired over the years have fared against their one-time mates.
