par Staff Writer / Montréal Canadiens

MONTREAL (January 5, 2015) – Netminder Carey Price is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of December (14 points). He earns this honour for the third consecutive month this season after winning it in October and November.

Price was selected the first star of the game four times (on December 12 versus Los Angeles, December 20 against Ottawa, December 23 at Long Island and December 29 at Carolina), the second star once (December 5 at Chicago). Price finished ahead of teammates Alex Galchenyuk, Andrei Markov and Max Pacioretty.

The 27-year old goaltender showed a 7-4-0 record in 11 games in December, leading all NHL goaltenders with a 1.93 goals against average. He stopped 310 of the 331 shots he faced for a .937 save percentage, ranking tied with Sergei Bobrovsky for first among NHL goaltenders.

Carey Price will be presented with the Molson Cup during a ceremony prior to the Tuesday, January 6 game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Bell Centre.
