The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced that it has suspended Flyers forward, Jakub Voracek, for two games as a result of his interference penalty against Islanders' defenseman Johnny Boychuck on Saturday in Long Island.

The incident occurred at 5:41 of the third period with Voracek receiving a five-minute major penalty for interference.

The NHL's Department of Player Safety released the following video to explain the decision:

Voracek will miss the following games as a result of the suspension:
Monday, Mar. 11 vs. Ottawa Senators (Wells Fargo Center)
Thursday, Mar. 14 vs. Washington Capitals (Wells Fargo Center)

Voracek ranks second on the Flyers in assists (43) and third in overall scoring with 61 points in 66 games. He missed two games with a lower-body injury, but returned to post two assists in the Flyers' 5-2 win over the Islanders on Sunday. He is currently riding a five-game point streak in games he has played, recording 11 points (3g-8a) in that stretch.
