Virtua Health teams up with Flyers

by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers

Virtua Health has reached an agreement with Philadelphia Flyers owner Comcast-Spectacor to be the “official orthopedic provider” of the Flyers.

The deal is scheduled to be announced when the Flyers open training camp on Sept. 20.

Under the partnership, Virtua Health — South Jersey’s largest health-care provider — will provide orthopedic services to the team and join with the Flyers on community initiatives promoting fitness, wellness and safety.

In addition, Virtua physicians will be used to discuss player injuries on Comcast SportsNet, a cable sports channel, and the Flyers’ community teammates program, which honors “people who make a positive difference.”

Virtua, based in Marlton, N.J., will sponsor “injury updates” during Flyers games and Flyers players will make appearances at Virtua facilities and events.

Virtua and Comcast-Spectacor already have a partnership that includes sponsorship of the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, N.J., and the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Pennsauken, N.J.
