Comcast-Spectacor is encouraging fans attending tonight's Philadelphia Flyers vs. Carolina Hurricanes game at Wachovia Center to arrive earlier than usual, use alternate routes or public transportation due to the closure of Interstate 95 just north of the Sports Complex in South Philadelphia, PA.
Penndot anticipates reopening the highway between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. The game will start as scheduled at 7 p.m. In order to accommodate early arrivals, Comcast-Spectacor is opening the open-to-the-public Cingular Pavilion, the members only Victors Club and the open-to-the-public Microbrewery at 5 p.m. Doors to the Wachovia Center seating area will open at 5:30 p.m.
Additionally, Comcast-Spectacor is offering its fans the following traffic tips:
I-95 Southbound - exit at Washington Avenue and take Columbus Blvd and turn right at exit - and proceed to the Complex.
I-95 Northbound - Take the Valley Forge / I-76 / Island Avenue exit to the Platt Bridge. At the bottom bridge stay towards the right and turn right onto Pattison Avenue (Sunoco Station). Proceed to Broad Street and turn right towards the Complex.
I-76 East to Walt Whitman Bridge and exit at Broad Street to the Complex.
From Jersey, if you're on Ben Franklin Bridge, take 676 to 76 East and pick up 76 East towards Walt Whitman Bridge. Or take Ben Franklin Bridge to Vine Street local exit; turn right onto 5th Street and a right onto Spring Garden. Take Spring Garden to Columbus Blvd and proceed all the way into the Complex.
From Jersey, if you're on Walt Whitman Bridge, take 7th Street or Broad Street exit to the Complex.
