On this date in 1984, Flyers Hall of Famer Tim Kerr tied the team record for goals in a single regular season game with four.

Kerr had a hat trick against the St. Louis Blues in a 7-2 victory. He posted one goal in the first period and three straight goals in the third period. The three tallies in the the third came in a span of two minutes and 27 seconds.

Kerr finished the season with 98 points (a career-high) which included 54 goals and 44 assists in 74 games.

A member of the Flyers Hall of Fame, Kerr recorded 650 points (363G-287A) in 601 regular season games for the Flyers.

He ranks sixth all-time in Flyers history in points (650) and third all-time in goals (363), while holding the Flyers all-time record in power-play goals (145) and hat trick (17).

He also holds the NHL record for most power-play goals in a single season (34).
