On this date in 1967, the Flyers played their first ever game at the historic Spectrum.

They defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins, 1-0. Left wing Bill Sutherland scored the lone goal in the game at 2:59 of the third period.

Goaltender Doug Favell stopped all 22 shots he faced to record the shutout.

It was Favell's first ever shutout as well as the Flyers first shutout in team history.
