This Date In Flyers History: November 7

by This Date in Flyers History / Philadelphia Flyers
On this date in 1968, St. Louis' Red Berenson scored six goals in the Blues' 8-0 win against the Flyers at the Spectrum. It is the most goals scored by a player against the Flyers in a regular season or playoff game.

Berenson's six-goal game was one goal short of the NHL record, set by Joe Malone during the 1919-20 season, and is just one of seven six-goal games in NHL history. Berenson's six goals still stand as the NHL record for most goals in one road game.
The Flyers went on to finish third in the West Division with a 20-35-21 record. They made the playoffs but lost to St. Louis in a four game sweep.

- The Flyers own an all-time record of 9-8-3-1.

- In 1974, Bernie Parent posted his 26th career shutout as a Flyer in a 2-0 win over the Minnesota North Stars.

- Born on 'This Date' are Flyers Alumni: Dwight Carruthers (1967-68), Jim Johnson (1968-72), Michel Picard (2000-01), Ryan Ready (2005-06), and Patrick Thoresen (2007-08).
