May 15, 1973...Flyers Reacquire Bernie Parent

On this date in 1973, the Flyers reacquired goaltender Bernie Parent and a second round pick in the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a first round pick in the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft and future considerations.

After trading Parent to the Maple Leafs in January of 1971, Flyers General Manager Keith Allen looked to improve their goaltending by reacquiring Parent.

The Maple Leafs used the Flyers' first round choice to select Bob Neely and goaltender Doug Favell was sent to Toronto as the future considerations.

The Flyers used the second round choice from Toronto to select defenseman Larry Goodenough.
