On this date in 1984, the Flyers defeated the New York Rangers at the Spectrum, 6-5.


In the game, Flyers rookie center Dave Poulin recorded four points (1G,3A). His third-period assist on Brian Propp's goal was his 76th point of the season, breaking Propp's team record for most points in a season by a rookie (Propp posted 75 points during the 1979-80 season).

Poulin's mark would last until rookie right wing Mikael Renberg registered 82 points during the 1993-94 season.
