March 2, 1982...Flyers Lose To Winnipeg, 7-6

                                    Ray Allison
On this date in 1982, the Flyers were defeated by the Winnipeg Jets at the Spectrum, 7-6.

In the game, the Flyers' Ray Allison scored three goals to post his first, and only, career NHL hat trick. For Winnipeg, right wing Willy Lindstrom recorded five goals and six points in the contest. His five goals and six points in the game are still tied for the Winnipeg Jets/Phoenix Coyotes franchise records for most goals and most points in a game by one player.

The game was the third time in Flyers history that a player from the Flyers and their opposition registered a hat trick in the same game. (It has only happened seven times in team history.)

The loss was also the first time that Winnipeg had won a game against the Flyers in Philadelphia. The Flyers had won the previous five meetings between the two teams in Philadelphia.
