March 1, 1968...Roof Blows Off Of Spectrum

On this date in 1968, the roof at the Spectrum blew off, forcing the Flyers to play the final month of the season "on the road."

The Flyers played seven "home" games at neutral-site locations, posting a 3-2-2 record in those games. The Flyers played a game at Madison Square Garden in New York (1-1 tie against Oakland on March 3) and at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto (2-1 loss to Boston on March 7). The Flyers played their final five "home" games in Quebec City; 2-0 win against Minnesota on March 10, 0-0 tie against Los Angeles on March 14, 7-4 win against Toronto on March 17, 2-0 win against St. Louis on March 28 and a 2-0 loss to Pittsburgh on March 30).
