April 7, 1984...Flyers Lose To Washington, 5-1


On this date in 1984, the Flyers lost to the Washington Capitals at the Spectrum, 5-1, in Game Three of their Patrick Division Semifinal series. The Capitals won the series, three games to none.

Flyers center Bobby Clarke was scoreless in the game. This game would be Clarke's last game in the NHL.

He would retire following the 1983-84 season to become the team's general manager. Clarke is first on the Flyers All-Time List in games played (regular season - 1,144 and playoffs -
