'Stache for Cash

by Joe Siville / Philadelphia Flyers

After their first week of 'Stache growing, some Flyers are noticing who is and who isn't growing a successful mustache so far... Check out the feature video HERE!

Just because the month of October has come and passed, it certainly doesn’t mean that the effort to increase Cancer awareness needs to come to an end.

Everybody in hockey world knows by now that during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, players, and sometimes management and the hardcore fans, grow out their beards.

Who's Mustache is this?
In an effort to raise money in support of prostate cancer, members of the Flyers are participating in a mustache growing contest during the entire month of November, appropriately dubbed “Movember”.

“The guys just started talking about it, but we weren’t too sure if we were going to do it,” said Claude Giroux, who up until this point had never grown a mustache. “It’s for a good cause and now that we can raise money for a charity it’s even better.”

Movember is a month-long challenge that starting November 1, all men must start clean-shaven and grow out a mustache until Dec. 1 hits.

Among the favorite players you can follow include: Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Daniel Carcillo, Claude Giroux, Sean O’Donnell, Matt Carle, Darroll Powe, Scott Hartnell, Jody Shelley, and James van Riemsdyk.

Throughout the month, stay tuned to for photos, feature stories and yes, video progress of the guys and their ‘staches!

Again, don’t miss out on your chance to donate for a great cause and have some fun watching your favorite Flyers grow’em out!
