RESULTS: Mason earns 'Best Save of 2013-14'

by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers

RESULTS: Steve Mason moves into the Final 4 by winning the 'Best Save of 2013-14' section of the Highlight of the Year tournament.

Mason's save on Penguins' Beau Bennett earned over 70 percent of the vote, defeating his teammate, Ray Emery's kick save on Blackhawks' Jonathan Toews.

Playing in his 300th game in the NHL, Steve Mason keeps the Flyers tied at 1-1 as the Penguins force pressure on the power-play early in the second period. With time winding down the man advantage, Beau Bennett was left alone on the doorstep when the puck popped out right on his stick. Mason stretches out with his pad and glove to deny Bennett.

Mason will now take on the winner of the 'Best in OT' section of the bracket that pits Brayden Schenn's winner against Claude Giroux.
