The fans have spoken and Nick Cousins’ first NHL goal advances to the semifinals of the 2015-16 Highlight of the Year tournament.
With over 1,000 votes being cast, Cousins goal vs. Buffalo edged out Michal Neuvirth’s amazing save in the final seconds against Minnesota. Cousins also won the wild card vote over three other highlights to advance to the quarterfinals.
The winning highlight unfolded off of a blocked shot in which Cousins then stripped the bouncing puck off Sabres’ forward Justin Bailey and raced up the ice and into the zone where he fired a rocket through the legs of Buffalo goalie Robin Lehner for his first NHL goal.
