1. HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED

The Sens opened the scoring with Mike Hoffman on a power play midway through the first period in a tic-tac-toe passing play down low resulting in a one-timer past Mason to make it 1-0 after 20 minutes.
Ottawa extended their lead by two with a chip shot off a deflection by Ryan Dzingel, but the Flyers stormed back with two quick goals at the end of the period with goals from Claude Giroux and Michael Del Zotto to even things up heading into the third period.
Through a scoreless third period, Jake Voracek fed Claude Giroux for a one-timer on a two on one and beat Mike Condon clean for the victory. Steve Mason stopped 19 of 21 shots for his seventh win of the year.
2. THE TURNING POINT
Claude Giroux's goal in the second period to get the Flyers on the board turned the tide after the team dominated the action though most of the frame. Exactly one minute later Michael Del Zotto fired a puck from just inside the blueline to even things up, giving them momentum they would take into the third period and capitalize on in the extra session.Video: PHI@OTT: Giroux buries nice wrister from the circle
3. THE THREE STARS
1 - Claude Giroux: Logged the most ice time of any Flyer at 22:44 and his pair of goals, including his eighth career overtime goal, gets the Flyers their third straight win.
2 - Jakub Voracek: Set up his linemate for both of his goals and was a +2 on the night while logging 21+ minutes of TOI.
3 - Mike Hoffman: Recorded his fifth goal in the last six games and fired seven shot on net.
4. STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

* Voracek and Giroux each extended their scoring streaks. Voracek now has a goal and four assists in his last three games, while Giroux has three goals and two assists in his last four games.
* The Flyers have now played 15 out of 25 games that has been decided by one goal and are 7-5-3 in one-goal games… This is also the second straight and eighth overall game decided past regulation.
* The Flyers defense posted a goal and two assists tonight giving them at least a point in 22 of 25 games, and a total of 11 points (4g-7a) in their last five games… The Flyers defense leads the NHL with 66 points, posting 17 goals and 49 assists.
5. THEY SAID IT
"This was a much different game for us. Tuesday was a tale of our goaltender doing a great job and stealing us a couple points. We didn't have a whole lot of gas in the tank. I thought tonight was a 61 minute effort pretty much from start to finish, up and down our lineup. A pretty good effort from our lineup all the way through."
