Flyers Fans can get Flyered Up at the Bud Light Playoff Block Party at Wachovia Center prior to all Philadelphia Flyers home playoff games. It's About Heart! as fans can play interactive games, listen to live music from top-area bands, feast on tasty barbecue treats from Butch's Smack Your Lips Barbecue and get ready for Flyers Hockey during the Playoff Block Party.
The Bud Light Playoff Block Party, which takes place both inside the Cingular Pavilion and the outside the Wachovia Center on the 11th street side, begins this Wednesday, April 26 at 4 p.m. when the Flyers host the Buffalo Sabres in Game Three of the National Hockey League's Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at Wachovia Center (game time is 7 p.m.). The party continues on Friday, April 28 at 4 p.m. when the two teams meet again in Game Four (game time is 7 p.m.). The Bud Light Playoff Block Party begins three hours prior to the start of all Flyers home playoff games at Wachovia Center.
"We're literally raising the bar with this year's Playoff Block Party as we recently added the new Cingular Pavilion to Wachovia Center," said Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko. "Everyone is encouraged to come early and enjoy all of the great activities we have in store for them. It's also a great way to avoid any traffic congestion by arriving earlier than usual and taking in all of the action at the Block Party."
From "Fired" to "Flyered," the Apprentice's Erin Elmore will serve as the hostess for the Bud Light Playoff Block Party and introduce the live music acts each night, as well as entertain fans and direct some of the live interactive games. Elmore was "fired" by Donald Trump on the popular NBC reality series The Apprentice.
During the Block Party, fans dunk the Sabres fan, take a shot on goal, play two-ball mini basketball, compete in pop-a-shot contests, meet team mascots and alumni players, and show they have heart!
New to this year's Block Party are Butch's Smack-Your-Lips Barbecue, a nationally recognized award-winning producer of ribs and barbecue sauce from Mt. Laurel, NJ, and a high-end cigar lounge, featuring comfortable couches, premium liquors, specialty drinks and large-screen televisions.
The restaurants at the Wachovia Center, including the microbrewery and Victors Club, will also open early. The Playoff Block Party will end just prior to the start of each game.
