Philadelphia Flyers and Wives Celebrate Spectrum Memories with Carnival Program Photo Shoot

by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers celebrate the memories of their former home, the Wachovia Spectrum, with a photo shoot at Spectrum landmarks. These ever-lasting memories will appear in the 2009 Flyers Wives Fight for Lives Carnival Program Book, a staple at each of the past 32 carnivals.

Danny Briere, Simon Gagne, Joffrey Lupul, Mike Richards along with the entire team and coaching staff will pose in locations such as the Kate Smith statue, the original Flyers locker room, the press box where Gene Hart once sat, and the infamous “Homer’s Gate” established to prevent altercations between the visiting team and Flyers during home games.

Carnival Co-Chairs Sylvie Briere and Holly Cote will also appear in photographs.

As the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation's largest fundraising-event, the Flyers Wives Fight For Lives Carnival unites Flyers and Phantoms fans with the common goal of giving back to the community.

Those attending are given the opportunity to meet and take photos with their favorite players, as well as participate in state of the art games and activities, including Shot on Goal, spin the wheel, dunk tanks, and raffles. Proceeds from the event are donated to a far-reaching array of non-profit groups and organizations throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region. Fans can also have their photo with the Stanley Cup or enter to win a 2009 Harley-Davidson.

The Flyers Wives Fight for Lives Carnival will be held at the Wachovia Center on Sunday, February 22, 2009, from 1:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. Tickets at $37, which includes the early admission beginning at 1:30 p.m., or general admission tickets (3 p.m. until 6 p.m.) at $20 for adults and $15 for children under 12, are on sale exclusively through ComcastTIX at 1-800-298-4200, online at ComcastTIX.com or at the Wachovia Center Box Office. In addition, the Foundation is selling autographs and/or photographs with select players, including Danny Briere, Jeff Carter, Simon Gagne, Joffrey Lupul and Mike Richards. Pre-sold photographs are $27 while pre-sold autographs are $22. The Foundation is also selling Shot on Goal opportunities at $17.
