SCHULTZ OUT WITH LOWER BODY INJURY
7:05 p.m.

Flyers general manager Ron Hextall announced just prior to the Flyers-Devils game at the PPL Center in Lehigh Valley that defenseman Nick Schultz will be out of action for 4-7 days with a lower-body injury.

Schultz appeared in one preseason game, the club's 4-0 win on Tuesday vs. NY Islanders, where he logged 17:21 of ice time on 23 shifts and three blocked shots.

Hextall also added that on Thursday the training camp roster will be reduced further to somewhere around 15 players. "We're going to try and get down to a manageable practice roster."

FLYERS ASSIGN SEVEN PLAYERS TO LEHIGH VALLEY
11:45 a.m.

Flyers general manager Ron Hextall announced today that the following players were released from Flyers training camp and will report to the club's AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, training camp on Friday, Sept. 30:

Mark Dekanich, Chris McCarthy, Maxim Lamarche, Martin Ouellette, Jesper Pettersson, Steve Swavely, Kevin Sundher.

The Flyers training camp roster now stands at 49 players.
