Prior to the start of the third period, Flyers GM Ron Hextall announced that forward Michael Raffl sustained a lower-body injury and would not return to the game in Newark vs. Devils.
Hextall also stated that Raffl would be out approximately 1-2 weeks.
He appeared in just 4:25 of ice-time, recording two shots on goal and two penalty minutes. Before entering tonight's game, Raffl recorded nine points and ranked fifth on the team with seven goals despite missing nine games due to injury this season. He also leads the team with a plus-minus rating of +4.
All seven of Raffl's goals have come at even strength, which is tied for second on the team, while 46 of his 50 goals in his NHL career have come at even strength.
In his fourth season with the club, Raffl has posted 50 goals and 40 assists for 90 points in 243 regular season games to go along with a +21 rating.
