Following practice on Friday afternoon, Flyers general manager Ron Hextall announced to the media an injury update on goaltender Brian Elliott:
Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Brian Elliott will be out approximately two weeks with a lower-body injury.
He suffered the injury at 6:08 of the third period in the club's loss to the Devils on Thursday. Back up, Calvin Pickard, came in relief of Elliott, stopping the only shot he faced in the contest.
Elliott owns a 6-7-0 mark to go along with a 2.59 goals-against average and .911 save percentage. More recently, since the club's West Coast trip starting on Oct. 30, Elliott has gone 4-2-0 with a 1.47 GAA and .949 save percentage.
He is in his second year with the Flyers since signing a two-year deal on July 1, 2017. He went 23-11-7 with a 2.66 GAA and .909 save percentage in 43 appearances in 2017-18.
The Flyers play the final game of their five-game homestand on Saturday when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning (1 p.m., NBCSP & 97.5 The Fanatic).
