The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have recalled defenseman Travis Sanheim under emergency conditions from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, according to GM Ron Hextall.
Sanheim will be available for Saturday's 1 p.m. game at the Wells Fargo Center against the Winnipeg Jets.
This is his first recall to the Flyers since being loaned to the Phantoms on Jan. 22. He has appeared in 18 games with Lehigh Valley where he has recorded 15 assists and 16 points on 26 shots to go along with a plus-minus rating of plus-14.
After making the Flyers roster out of training camp, Sanheim appeared in 35 games to start the season where he posted five points (1g-4a) while averaging 15:14 of ice time as a rookie. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 5 at Los Angeles and recorded his first NHL goal on Dec. 14 in the Flyers' 2-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
