The Flyers have traded the 11th pick to Arizona in exchange for the 14th and 45th picks of the Draft. The Coyotes use the pick on Swedish defenseman Victor Söderström.

6:36 p.m. PDT (9:29 p.m. PDT)
With the 14th pick of the first round, the Flyers selected USNTDP defenseman Cameron York. He isn't big (5-foot-11, 172 pounds) but fits the puck-moving mold that has been highly valued in recent years. York can jump into the play as a trailer in the offensive end, is a slick passer and has point-producing potential even at higher levels of the game. At the defensive end, he is reliable positionally and there's a good foundation with which to work in terms of his gaps and poise under forechecking pressure although development (particularly added physical strength) will be needed in his overall game before he's deemed NHL ready.
York, who is bound for the University of Michigan led the stacked USNTDP team with a plus-44 rating this season at even strength. He does not have a heavy shot from the point but it is accurate. Scouts rate him highly for his hockey sense.
