PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT COMCAST-SPECTACOR FOUNDATION AND MIKE KNUBLE FAMILY FOUNDATION

Philadelphia Flyers forward Mike Knuble will host a Celebrity Golf Invitational, featuring many of his Flyers teammates, as Dave & Buster’s presents the Mike Knuble Celebrity Golf Invitational at the Talamore Country Club in Ambler, PA, on Thursday, September 11. The Tournament will be a shotgun start scramble format beginning at 1 p.m.  The inaugural charity golf tournament features exciting putting contests, tee prizes, a silent and live auction, reception, and awards ceremony hosted by Knuble.  Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation and the Mike Knuble Family Foundation.

“The Mike Knuble Family Foundation is proud to team up with the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation and Dave and Busters to make this an unforgettable experience for everyone from sponsors to participants,” said Knuble. “My family and I are excited to be a part of this event.  It’s important to give back to the community and help local charities.”

The golf tournament is a unique experience as each foursome will play with a member of the team.  Flyers players confirmed for participating include Jeff Carter, Scott Hartnell, Mike Richards, Simon Gagne, Kimmo Timonen and Scottie Upshall

“We are thrilled to have our three Philadelphia locations involved in such a worthy cause,” said Dave and Busters General Manager Bill Finkel.  “It is our privilege to be the title sponsor of the Mike Knuble Celebrity Golf Invitational.  The Philadelphia Community has given so much to our locations and we are excited to give back.”

Auction items will include resort stays, fine dining, autographed memorabilia, and a trip for two on the Flyers team plane to an away game with hotel and game tickets provided.

The Mike Knuble Celebrity Golf Invitational is the first-ever Flyers charities golf tournament.  Talamore Country Club, a premiere 18-hole golf course, features six sets of tees and a state of the art banquet room.

“Talamore Country Club proudly welcomes the Flyers and their guests to a uniquely beautiful club and a golf course that offers scenic views and a truly enjoyable experience for all skill levels,” said Talamore Country Club Director of Club Corporate Relations Jack Lutz.

Sponsorship participation packages are available through the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation.  Package levels Gold and Silver include a foursome pairing with a Flyers player.  Call 215-609-1646 or visit www.ComcastSpectacorFoundation.org to register for the tournament.
