(November 2) - The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have assigned 6'1", 205-pound defenseman Lars Jonsson and reassigned 6'2", 220-pound defenseman Alexandre Picard to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, according to Interim General Manager Paul Holmgren.
Jonsson, 24, posted an assist in two games with the Flyers this season. He missed the first eight games of the season due to a high right ankle sprain.
A native of Borlange, Sweden, Jonsson was signed as a free agent by the Flyers on July 1, 2006.
Picard, 21, was scoreless in four games with the Flyers this season. He also posted two points (1G,1A) in four games for the Phantoms this season.
A native of Gatineau, Quebec, Picard was drafted by the Flyers in the third round (85th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
