Injury Update: Ryan White undergoes surgery

Flyers general manager Ron Hextall gave the following injury update on center Ryan White.

"Ryan White had successful surgery to repair his left pectoralis muscle. His surgery was performed yesterday by Dr. Gerry Williams at Methodist hospital. The injury occurred during an off ice workout in Brandon, Manitoba last week. There has been no time table established on Ryan's return."

The Flyers signed the 6-0, 201-lb White to a one-year, two way contract on Aug. 7 after recording six points (2g-4a) and 50 penalty minutes in 52 games for the Montreal Canadiens last season.

The 26-year-old has posted five goals and 12 assists for 17 points and 232 penalty minutes in 141 career NHL games in parts of five seasons, all with the Canadiens.

A native of Brandon, Manitoba, White was Montreal’s third round draft pick (66th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
