Flyers general manager Ron Hextall gave the following injury update on defenseman Radko Gudas:

"Radko Gudas sustained an upper body injury during his offseason training and will be evaluated on a week to week basis. We are hopeful and optimistic that he will not miss any regular season games.”

Gudas signed a multi-year extension with the Flyers this summer on June 23. He posted 14 points (5g-9a) in 76 games in 2015-16, his first with the Flyers. He led the team, and ranked second overall in the NHL, with 304 hits, while also finishing second on the team with 157 blocked shots.

The 6’0”, 204-pound native of Prague, Czech Republic was also selected in March to represent his country in the upcoming World Cup of Hockey in Toronto.

The Flyers originally acquired Gudas from Tampa Bay along with 1st and 3rd round picks in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Braydon Coburn on March 2, 2015. He was drafted by the Lightning in the third round (66th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
