Holy Crowd!

by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers
For many of the players appearing in the Flyers-Caps Rookie Game presented by Smoothie King it was their first NHL experience and certainly their first taste of the hockey fans in Philadelphia.

Below are the player reactions from seeing over 10,000 fans in Orange & Black cheering them on.

FLYERS GM PAUL HOLMGREN
“I think the fans were great. To me they’re the Number One star. To show up and have numbers like that for a rookie game, it’s just tremendous and it shows how great the fans are here.”

SEAN COUTURIER
“Yeah, obviously I think the fans were great and it shows the passion they have for their team and it would be a lot of fun playing here.”

BRAYDEN SCHENN
“There was a great crowd here, they’re loud and, you know, people seem to love the game of hockey here and you get the support of a crowd like Canada…it’s unbelievable.”

TYLER HOSTETTER
“These fans are loud. They never give up on the team and they’re the best fans in the League. Even when I’m just there watching a game, it gets me fired up.”

HARRY ZOLNIERCZYK
“It was awesome. Just for a rookie game it was so exciting. It was definitely the biggest crowd I’ve ever played in front of. It was a good feeling to come out of the locker room and see fans like that.”

OLIVER LAURIDSEN
“It was absolutely amazing. It was a great initiative from the team to do this for the fans to come watch and it was a great game."
