The Philadelphia Flyers announced that the starting time for their game against the New Jersey Devils at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, October 25, has been changed to 4:00 p.m. Eastern. The game will still be televised by Comcast SportsNet and broadcast on SportsRadio 610 WIP (610-AM).
"We felt that changing the starting time to 4:00 p.m. benefits our fans," said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren. "The 4:00 p.m. starting time should alleviate some of the congestion in the sports complex area and gives our fans the opportunity to view Game 3 of the World Series."
The original starting time of 7:00 p.m. for the game was changed to 4:00 p.m. to avoid a conflict with Game 3 of the 2008 World Series. This is the second time that the Flyers have changed a game to avoid a conflict with a World Series game. The Flyers-New York Islanders game at the Spectrum on October 21, 1993 was moved to October 22 to avoid a conflict with Game Five of the 1993 World Series.
Flyers fans are invited to stay at the AT&T Pavilion following the game to watch the Phillies take on the Tampa Bay Rays in Game Three of the World Series. All fans in attendance will be given rally towels. To reserve your seats to the game, click here
