Forsberg Comments on Groin Injury

by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers
Flyers center Peter Forsberg left the game against the Montreal Canadiens early on Wednesday with a groin injury. Below are his comments regarding the injury.

"It was kind of the same as before. I felt the groin…not pop, but I've got a little strain in my groin there. There's no way I could play on.

"The last time here we rested for a long time and I thought it was perfect. I skated for three days and it was fine and there was no problem, so it's hard right now. It was just a tough day. I thought it was going to be fine and I re-aggravated it again and it doesn't feel good."

Is there any discomfort right now?
"It's definitely a little worse than it was a week ago. I felt it right away. It's not like last time when it was coming on and on throughout the game, this time it was kind of like a more sharp pain right off the bat. I just have to go back in the training room I guess for a little bit."

How does this compare to the last one?
"I don't think it's going to be too long, but we definitely have to make sure we take our time on this one."

Do you think you came back too soon?
"I don't think I came back too soon. It's not exactly the same injury I would say in the same area, this is a little different. I don't think I came back too early. I played a game and it was fine. In three or four practices there was no problem. I felt good for a couple of days. It feels hurt right now, I just have to make sure it's 110 percent when I come back next time."
