Flyers to Build Enormous Mountain of Toys to Benefit CAPE

by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers and 92.5 WXTU will build an enormous "Toy Mountain" with over 10,000 toys to benefit the Child Abuse Prevention Effort (CAPE). Over 200 festively decorated trucks containing the toys will parade from XTU's studios in Bala Cynwyd into the Wachovia Center.

Fans who donate toys to the "Toy Mountain" can get their face painted, participate in arts and crafts, get a photo with Santa Claus, and enjoy live music performances. A list of suggested donation items is available here.

Fans attending the Flyers vs. Washington Capitals game later that evening are also encouraged to add to the "Toy Mountain" by donating new, unwrapped toys.

All fans who donate a toy will receive a 10-percent discount at the Fan Gear store inside the Wachovia Center*, a discount voucher for the Flyers Wives Fight for Lives Carnival, and a foam puck, courtesy of the National Hockey League (NHL).

*jerseys, lettering and memorabilia excluded
