The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have signed right wing Owen Tippett to a two-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $1.5M, according to President of Hockey Operations & General Manager, Chuck Fletcher.

Tippett, 23 (2/16/1999), recorded seven points (4g-3a) in 21 games and averaged 15:12 of ice time per-game for the Flyers last season since joining the team at the trade deadline on Mar. 19.
He was acquired by the Flyers, along with a first round pick in 2024 and a third round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, in exchange for forwards Claude Giroux, Connor Bunnaman, German Rubtsov and the Flyers' fifth round pick in 2024.
The 6-2, 207-pound forward also split time with the Florida Panthers and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, in 2021-22. He posted 14 points (6g-8a) and averaged 12:32 of ice-time in 42 games for the Panthers.
With the Checkers, he recorded over a point per-game with 18 points (6g-14a) in 12 games and posted at least a point in 11 of 12 games he played last season.
A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Tippett was selected in the first round (10th overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by Florida. He spent parts of five seasons in the Panthers organization where he recorded 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 points in 94 regular season games and four points (1g-3a) in six Stanley Cup Playoff games for Florida.
Over parts of three seasons in the AHL, Tippett has recorded 60 points (26g-34a) in 63 regular season games with the Springfield Thunderbirds (2017-18, 2019-20) and Charlotte (2021-22).
Internationally, Tippett has represented Canada on several occasions, which includes the 2019 World Junior Championships where he posted four points (2g-2a) in five games.
