Flyers sign RW Maksim Sushko to Entry Level Contract

Club's 2017 Fourth Round Draft pick inks contract to begin next season

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have signed RW Maksim Sushko, the club's Fourth Round Pick (107th overall) in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, to an entry-level contract to begin 2018-19 season, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

DRAFTED: 4th Round, 107th overall (2017)

TEAM/LEAGUE: Owen Sound Attack - OHL (Ontario Hockey League)

AGE: 18 (2-10-1999)

BORN: Brest, Belarus

VITALS: 6'0", 181 pounds

  •  Appeared on the world stage in his first World Junior tournament this season for Belarus and was named the team's captain... He averaged over a point per-game with eight points (2g-6a) in six games… He averaged nearly 24 minutes of TOI (23:56), leading all Belarus forwards.
  • Sushko has tallied 30 goals and 25 assists for 55 points in 57 games, all of which are new career highs in his second season playing junior hockey.
  • He is tied for second on the team with his 30 goals, while leading Owen Sound with five game-winning goals.
  • He leads the entire OHL in shorthanded goals (6) which is also tied for the lead among all three Canadian Hockey Leagues (WHL & QMJHL).
  • In his first season, he helped lead Owen Sound to the Conference Finals, where he recorded 11 points (3g-5a) and a plus-5 rating in 17 playoff games.
  • Appeared in the Flyers-Islanders rookie game at the Wells Fargo Center, where he played wing on a line with Nolan Patrick and Connor Bunnaman.
