Flyers sign RW Colin McDonald

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed right wing Colin McDonald to a one-year, two-way contract, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

VITALS: 6’2”, 219 pounds
  • McDonald appeared in 18 regular season games for the Islanders last season recording two goals and six assists for eight points.
  • He also appeared in two Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Islanders, going scoreless.
  • With the Islanders AHL affiliate, he posted 14 goals and 21 assists for 35 points in 40 regular season games.
  • McDonald has appeared in the NHL for parts of five seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Islanders where he has a total of 44 points (18g-26a) in 140 games.
  • In his AHL career, he has appeared in 449 games recording 110 goals and 127 assists for 237 points.
  • Prior to turning pro, McDonald spent four years at Providence College, recording 43 goals and 34 assists for 77 points in 135 games.
