The Philadelphia Flyers have signed 5-11, 188 lb free-agent right wing Aaron Palushaj, according to general manager Ron Hextall.
Palushaj, 25 (9/7/1989), is returning to North America after playing the 2014-15 season in the Kontinental Hockey League.  He split the season between Medveščak Zagreb and Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, recording a total of seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points in 53 games.
A native of Livonia, Michigan, Palushaj has appeared in a total of 68 NHL games for Montreal, Colorado and Carolina, collecting three goals and 11 assists for 14 points while averaging 9:02 per game.  He has also appeared in 190 career American Hockey League games, posting 54 goals and 82 assists for 136 points.
Palushaj was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the second round (44th overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft.  He played two seasons at the University of Michigan before joining the Blues’ AHL affiliate in Peoria, Illinois, during which time he represented the USA at the 2009 World Junior Championships.  He was traded to Montreal by St. Louis for Matt D'Agostini on March 2, 2010, and after starting the 2010-11 season with Montreal’s AHL affiliate in Hamilton, Ontario, he was recalled and made his NHL debut with the Canadiens on March 17, 2011.
