Flyers sign Raffl to multi-year extension

by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed forward Michael Raffl to a multi-year contract extension today, according to club general manager Paul Holmgren.

Raffl, 25 (12/1/88) has nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points this season, his first with the Flyers and in the NHL.

Since being recalled on Oct. 12 from the club's AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, he has appeared in 57 of 65 Flyers games, including 28 straight games since Jan. 7.

Raffl was also one of five Flyers selected to represent their country in the 2014 Winter Olympics. He finished the tournament second on Austria in scoring with three points (1g-2a), including the game-winning goal in the team's only victory in four games.
