Flyers sign LW Matthew Strome to Entry Level Contract

Club's Fourth Round pick in 2017 inks entry level deal

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have signed LW Matthew Strome, the club's Fourth Round Pick (106th overall) in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, to an entry-level contract, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

TEAM/LEAGUE: Hamilton Bulldogs - OHL (Ontario Hockey League)
AGE: 19 (1-6-1999)
BORN: Mississauga, Ontario
VITALS: 6'3", 201 pounds
* Strome leads the Hamilton Bulldogs with 37 goals and ranks third on the team in overall scoring with 68 points (37g-31a) in 64 games.
* His 37 goals, 31 assists and 68 points are all new career highs.
* He has helped lead the Bulldogs to the top of the Eastern Conference with a 42-18-3-3 record for 90 points in the OHL this season.
* Last season, Strome appeared in seven OHL playoff games for the Bulldogs, where he recorded eight points (1g-7a).
* Currently in his third season with Hamilton, Strome has career marks of 87 goals and 81 assists for 168 points in 191 regular season games.
* Strome comes from a hockey family with brothers Ryan (Edmonton) and Dylan (Arizona) drafted and in the NHL.
* In his OHL rookie season (2015-16), he scored more goals than Dylan and Ryan scored during their first OHL seasons.
