Flyers sign goaltender Jason LaBarbera

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed 6-3, 232-lb goaltender Jason LaBarbera to a one-year, two-way contract, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

  • Appeared in five games with the Anaheim Ducks this past season posting a 2-0-1 record with a 2.61 goals-against average and .909 save percentage.
  • Spent a majority of the 2014-15 season with the Ducks' AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, where he posted a 9-16-7 record with three shutouts, a 2.62 GAA and .912 save percentage in 34 appearances.
  • He has recorded a career mark of 62-73-20 in 187 regular season games with a 2.85 GAA and .907 save percentage to go along with six shutouts over parts of 11 seasons in the NHL with the NY Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes, Edmonton Oilers and Ducks.
  • Has a lifetime AHL record of 131-75-20 with a 2.15 GAA and a .928 save percentage in 247 games.
  • Among his AHL accomplishments are: AHL First All-Star Team (2004, 2007); Most Outstanding Goaltender (2004, 2007); AHL MVP (2004); Fewest Goals-Against (2005 & 2007).
  • Originally selected by the New York Rangers in the third round (66th overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
