The Philadelphia Flyers announced they have signed free agent goaltender Martin Jones to a one-year contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of 2.0M, and center Nate Thompson to a one-year contract with an AAV of $800,000, according to President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Chuck Fletcher.

* Last season, 2020-21, he had a 15-13-4 record in 34 appearances and posted a 3.28 GAA and .896 save percentage.

* Jones served as the LA Kings backup for their 2014 Stanley Cup Championship and appeared in two games during their run to the title.

* He led the San Jose Sharks to the 2016 Stanley Cup Final when he posted a 14-10 record with a 2.16 GAA and .923 save percentage in that postseason run.

* In 2015-16, he posted a 37-23-4 record with a 2.27 GAA and .918 save percentage and finished 7th in Vezina Trophy voting.

* He followed that up with a 35-23-6 mark and finished 6th in Vezina voting in 2016-17 and was named to the mid-season NHL All-Star Team.

* Over parts of eight seasons in the NHL with the Kings (2013-2015) and San Jose Sharks (2015-2021) Jones has appeared in 361 regular season games with 354 starts in net.
