The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have signed defenseman Ronnie Attard, the club's third-round pick (72nd overall) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, to a two-year entry-level contract that will begin this season (2021-22), according to President of Hockey Operations & General Manager, Chuck Fletcher.

"We're very happy to have Ronnie sign with us after a great career with the Broncos," said Fletcher. "He is a big, mobile defenseman who has steadily improved his game each season. We are excited to have him join our group and look forward to his continued development at the pro level."

* Attard turns professional after three seasons at the University of Western Michigan where he recorded 27 goals and 45 assists for 72 points in 94 games.
* This past season as a junior, he averaged nearly a point per-game pace with 36 points (13g-23a) in 39 games... He led all Western Michigan defensemen and ranked third overall on the team with his 36 points and led the team with a plus-minus of +22.
* His 36 points also led all NCHC conference defensemen and ranked third among all NCAA defensemen... He tied for second among all NCAA d-men in power-play goals (6) and third in goals (13).
* Throughout his collegiate career, Attard has increased his offense in goals, assists and points each season.
* As a sophomore in 2020-21, Attard was named the NCHC's Offensive Defenseman of the Year and First Team All-NCHC and First Team All-American.
* Attard becomes the third member, out of seven players of the 2019 Flyers draft class, to sign a contract with the Flyers.
