The Philadelphia Flyers have signed defenseman Oliver Bonk to a three-year, entry-level contract, according to General Manager Daniel Briere.

Bonk was selected by the Flyers in the first round (22nd overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft and participated in the club's Development Camp in July.

Bonk, 18 (1/9/05), tallied 10 goals and 30 assists for 40 points in 67 games during the 2022-23 season with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The 6-foot-2, 180-pound native of Ottawa, Ontario, ranked fifth on the team in assists and eighth in points. The right-shot defenseman set career highs in goals, assists, points, power-play goals and shorthanded goals. He set a career-high eight-game point streak from Oct. 29 to Nov. 19 (2g, 10a). Bonk had set a career-high three assists at Guelph on Mar. 15. He also collected 11 assists in 21 playoff contests to help lead London to the OHL Finals. The blueliner ranked fourth in playoff points amongst OHL defensemen. He also appeared in five games for Canada in the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup to help them win a gold medal.

Bonk has 43 points (10g, 33a), two PPG, one GWG and 44 PIM in 77 OHL regular season games in two seasons with the London Knights. He owns 12 points (1g, 11a) and eight PIM in 28 career playoff contests.
