Flyers Reduce Training Camp Roster

Four Players Returned To Their Junior Team; Two Players Released From Try-Out Contract


The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have returned forwards Mario Kempe, Garrett Klotz and Patrick Maroon and defenseman Kevin Marshall to their respective Canadian Hockey League teams, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren.

Kempe, the Flyers’ fifth round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, was returned to the St. John’s Fog Devils of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Klotz, the Flyers’ third round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, was returned to the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League. Maroon, a Flyers’ sixth round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, was returned to the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League. Marshall, the Flyers’ second round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, was returned to the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

In addition, the team announced that it has released forward Matt Stefanishion and defenseman Ryan Wilson. Each was invited to Training Camp on a try-out basis.
