(November 22) - The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have recalled 5'10", 200-pound right wing Eric Meloche from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, according to General Manager Paul Holmgren. Meloche has been assigned uniform number #40 and will be available for tonight's Flyers-Senators game at the Wachovia Center. In addition, the team announced that left wing Triston Grant was reassigned to the Phantoms.
Meloche, 30, registered a goal and an assist for two points and 14 penalty minutes in eight games for the Phantoms this season. He also posted two assists in four games with the Flyers this season.
Over parts of four seasons in the NHL (2001-02 through 2003-04 and 2006-07), Meloche has registered eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points and 32 penalty minutes in 65 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Flyers. He was acquired by the Flyers from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for the rights to Vaclav Pletka on August 2, 2006.
Grant recorded an assist and 10 penalty minutes in eight games for the Flyers this season.
