by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers announced that the club has promoted six front office members. Cindy Stutman has been named director of customer service, Maureen McGuckin has been named director of community relations and fan development, Rob Baer has been named fan development manager, Kevin Kurz has been named new media manager, Jill Lipson has been named team publicist and Jessica Palmer has been named ticket sales coordinator, according to Flyers President Ron Ryan.

"We are very fortunate to have this caliber of individuals who have made it possible for us to promote from within our organization," said Ryan. "In every case, they have developed rapidly in their areas of expertise and they are very deserving of moving up the ladder in our organization."

Stutman, 29, was previously the customer service manager for the Flyers. Her new duties include managing and maintaining business relationships with all Flyers season ticket holders and executing special events and programs, such as season ticket holder clubs, programs and benefits, and coordinating all season ticket holder communications. Prior to joining the Flyers in 2003, Stutman had been a member of the Comcast-Spectacor family since joining the organization in the Event Services Department in 1998.

Stutman, a 1998 University of Massachusetts at Amherst graduate, is single and lives in Philadelphia.

McGuckin, 30, was previously the club's community relations manager. Her new duties include managing and fulfilling all donation requests, arranging celebrity appearances and creating and implementing programs, which benefit communities throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region. She has worked for the Flyers in a variety of other capacities, including sales and customer service, since joining the organization in 2000.

McGuckin, a 1997 graduate from the University of Scranton, is single and lives in Somerdale, New Jersey.

Baer, 26, was most recently the team's fan development coordinator. In his new duties, Baer will oversee the departmental programs, including Hooked on Hockey, school assemblies, hospital visits, ice hockey clinics, media drops, intermission activities, Flyers Ice Team appearances and the annual Flyers/Phantoms Coaching Symposium. He has been with the Flyers since 2001.

Baer is a 2001 graduate of West Chester University. He and his wife, Tara, reside in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.

Kurz, 27, was previously the team's manager of interactive media. In his new role, he will cover the team for the club's official web site, www.philadelphiaflyers.com, manage all other web site content, including the redesigned web site to be launched in mid-September, send out weekly newsletters to the Flyers cyberclub and develop and implement e-mail campaigns. He has been a member of the Flyers front office staff since 2002. Prior to joining the Flyers, he spent two seasons as the assistant director of public relations for the Phantoms.

Kurz, a 1999 graduate of Ithaca College (NY), is single and lives in Manayunk, Pennsylvania.

Lipson, 30, most recently worked in the Philadelphia 76ers' Community Relations Department. She has been a member of the Flyers' public relations staff since 1996. Her new duties include promoting the team's off-ice activities, including the appearances of Bob Kelly, the Flyers' ambassador of hockey, and pitching non-hockey related stories to local and national media.

A 1999 graduate of Rider University, Lipson is single and lives in Newtown, Pennsylvania.

Palmer, 22, was previously the administrative assistant to the vice president of marketing, sales and communications. Her new duties include assisting in planning and development of sales and marketing campaigns, assisting in designing of reporting measures for the sales department, coordinating gameday staffing and other administrative duties. Prior to joining the Flyers, she was a marketing intern for the Philadelphia Wings in 2005 and a marketing intern for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2004.

Palmer, a 2005 graduate of The College of New Jersey, is single and lives in Medford, New Jersey.

"We are thrilled to have these six individuals on board," said Flyers' Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Communications Shawn Tilger. "They have all proven themselves with their enthusiasm and hard work."
