Flyers Place Three on Waivers, Recall Three From Phantoms

(Tampa, FL, October 18, 2006) – Flyers Assistant General Manager Paul Holmgren announced that the Flyers have placed three players on waivers and will recall three players from their AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms.

Paul Holmgren: "We decided we wanted to recall three players from the Phantoms. In order to do that, we had to place some players on waivers today. We placed Petr Nedved, Niko Dimitrakos and Nolan Baumgartner on waivers in order to make roster spaces available for those players that we are going to recall tomorrow."

Who are you going to recall?
PH: "We are going to recall Alexandre Picard, Ben Eager and Stefan Ruzicka."

When will they be joining the team?
PH: "They will be in tomorrow."

What will happen if they clear waivers?
PH: "Dimitrakos and Nedved will be assigned to the Phantoms and Baumgartner will remain with the Flyers."

In four games with the Phantoms this season, Ruzicka has five goals and four assists for nine points and seven penalty minutes and leads the team in scoring. He is also tied for the league lead in scoring in games played through October 17. In four games with the Phantoms, Picard has one goal and one assist for two points. In three games with the Phantoms, Eager is scoreless with 21 penalty minutes.

In five games with the Flyers this season, Baumgartner has one assist and 21 penalty minutes. In two games with the Flyers, Dimitrakos is scoreless with four penalty minutes. In six games with the Flyers, Nedved is scoreless with six penalty minutes.
